My local library has the summer reading theme "Libraries Rock!" this year. In the Spanish titles section, they had the poster translated into Spanish to read "Las bibliotecas tienen ritmo!" That didn't really seem to convey the same idea to me. Is that right? If not, what would you suggest? Gracias!
The more I read that translation the more images of dancing books that I get. xD
To add some slang, I would say, "¡Las bibliotecas son padres!"
Interesting. I've only ever heard "padre" used with "estar". I didn't know it could be both.
You are watching: How do you say rock in spanish
Las bibliotecas molan
Las bibliotecas son la ostia
Las bibliotecas son geniales
Those are mostly from Spain, and anyone who speaks spanish will get what you are trying to say if you choose any of them. There are plenty more ways to say it tho.
FYI, none of what people have mentioned here would work across the Spanish-speaking world, with the exception of "genial". And even that might sound a bit off in many countries.
The problem is that even having the same roots, all Spanish dialects have developed their own slang versions.
While in Spain we could say "Las bibliotecas molan", in Mexico you would say "las bilbiotecas están padre", or in Argentina "Las bibliotecas, qué bárbaro"
I thing you should search for an option for all versions, which may not sound so cool, but it will work well, for example "Este verano, las bibliotecas están de moda"
It depends on the dialect, in Mexico you can say:
Las bibliotecas rifan.
Las bibliotecas son (súper) geniales.
Las bibliotecas están/son de (súper) huevos.
Las bibliotecas están/son (muy or súper) chingonas.
Las bibliotecas están/son (muy or súper) chidas.
Las bibliotecas están/son (muy or súper) padres.
Las bibliotecas me maman.
Las bibliotecas están verguísimas / bien vergas.
The words in parenthesis are optional, and the last two options are quite recent ways of saying it. For a library however I would only use the first two and the "padres" one, the others are only for speaking with your friends.

Las bibliotecas son copadas.Las bibliotecas son re copadas. (informal)Las bibliotecas son lo más.

Las bibliotecas 'la llevan' Las bibliotecas son pulentas (very very informal, close to flaite? Haha)
I think a general translation for all countrys would be 'Las bibliotecas son lo mejor'
Bibleotecas son muy chidas! (American learning Spanish)
