I"m practicing because that my medicine calc retake and there"s another question the is plaguing me.

Order: Heparin 28mL/hr

Available: 25,000units/500mL

What is the dose being delivered? ____units/hr

Again, I"m not in search of the answer as I currently have that (1400units/hr)

I simply need some help figuring the end a conversion...one of this bogus sites said 40u=1ml

(28x40= 1120. 1120/25000x500=22.4) and also another said 1 unit = .01ml. (28x.01=0.28. I m sorry I already know from looking in ~ it, that won"t work.) So, lock both don"t job-related out. I have actually no idea where to walk from here! Sigh.

Can anyone allude me in the best direction?! i BEG you!

Why are you in search of a conversion? You currently have the answer.1400 units per hour.

You are watching: How many units are in a ml

You don"t have actually to transform mls to units. You have actually to figure out how many units space in a ml.25,000 divided by 500 is 50. Therefore 50 systems per ml.If lock are getting 28mls per hour, they are gaining 1400 units per hour. That"s every the concern is asking.

There is no addressed equivalency for devices to mls.It all depends on just how the drug is mixed.

One cc of insulin could have 40,80,or 100 units. One cc the heparin can have 100 systems or 5000 units. Over there is no such thing as a ml-to-unit conversion.

You"ve excellent it best in the first place. Therefore why are you feather to carry out something different?

Don"t overthink this, or go trying to find a shortcut that doesn"t really conserve you time and also gives girlfriend the dorn answer in the bargain.
